Walking into Versante Hotel honestly feels like stepping into one of those sleek luxury properties you’d expect to find in downtown Vancouver, not tucked away in Richmond. The lobby has this modern, understated elegance that immediately tells you this five-star property takes itself seriously — but in a good way. You know what struck me most? The attention to detail in the design, from the carefully curated art pieces to the way natural light floods the space during the day.

Location & Getting Around

Here’s the thing about Richmond — it’s actually become this incredible food destination, and the Versante sits right in the heart of it all on Bridgeport Road. You’re literally minutes from some of the best Asian cuisine outside of Asia itself, which couples seem to absolutely love (they rate the location 8.6, and I totally get why). The hotel provides parking, which honestly is a huge relief because navigating Richmond without a car can be tricky. Plus, you’re close enough to Vancouver International Airport that you won’t stress about early flights, but far enough that you don’t hear planes constantly.

The Room Experience

My room was one of those spaces where everything just works — the lighting, the layout, the way the bathroom connects seamlessly to the sleeping area. The beds are seriously comfortable, with that perfect firmness that luxury hotels seem to nail every time. What I really appreciated was the tech integration — everything from climate control to blackout curtains operated smoothly, and the Wi-Fi actually delivered on its promises. The views vary depending on which side you’re on, but even the city-facing rooms have this clean, modern outlook that feels calming.

The on-site restaurant serves this interesting fusion cuisine that reflects Richmond’s multicultural vibe — I mean, you’re in a city where incredible dim sum exists next to authentic Italian, so it makes sense. The spa facilities are where this place really shines though. It’s not massive, but the treatments are top-notch, and there’s something about the atmosphere that makes you want to spend the entire afternoon there. The fitness center is well-equipped too, though honestly, with all the great food nearby, I found myself walking around the neighborhood more than hitting the gym.

What sets Versante apart is how it manages to feel both luxurious and approachable — you get that five-star service without the stuffiness that sometimes comes with high-end properties.   Getting chauffeured from the airport in a lovely vehicle was a great introduction to this wonderful hotel. All the staff were friendly and pleasant. The room amazing and comfortable. Loved the luxurious bathroom and the floor to ceiling windows, even though the view wasn’t anything special (clouds covered the mountains). Bed big and comfortable. We’ll stay again when we return to Vancouver.
  
  What could be improved: Lots of local good restaurants to walk to but the area is need of beautification.

  The Hotel provided courtesy transport to the property from the airport, which was arranged last minute and, they were very prompt and courteous. The room was very well appointed and clean. It was our first visit. The staff are very helpful and friendly. I highly recommend this property.
  
  What could be improved: I did not like the decor choice in the corridors. An effort to keep the design theme going, but it is too dark, and can create an anxious feeling as it is not warm and welcoming. ( personal preference )

  So close to the airport!
  They upgraded me to a lovely room that was immaculate and fully equipped.
  
  What could be improved: It was not the hotel, but in the vicinity, there needs to be a public space, sidewalk clean up and sprucing up.
  But everything about the property was very good.

  the bathroom was amazing! I especially liked the tub overlooking the city really nice view and quality of shower components. I really like the cleanliness of this place as we found it spotless and smell great!
  
  What could be improved: I think the only thing was the climate control air vent blowing directly at the beds which is annoying at night time, and the high price of parking for hotel customers ($30/24 hrs).
