Walking into the Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier honestly feels like stepping onto the deck of a luxury yacht — and I mean that in the best possible way. This five-star waterfront property sits right on the edge of North Vancouver’s harbor, and the moment you arrive, you’re hit with those incredible mountain and water views that make you forget you’re still technically in the city. The lobby has this sleek, maritime-inspired design that actually works without feeling gimmicky, and the staff genuinely seems happy to see you rather than just going through the motions.

The Location Magic

You know what’s brilliant about this spot? It’s tucked away on Victory Ship Way, which sounds industrial but is actually this peaceful waterfront area where you can walk along the pier and watch seaplanes take off. The couples who stay here absolutely love it — and honestly, I get why they rate the location so highly. You’re a quick SeaBus ride to downtown Vancouver (the terminal is literally a two-minute walk), but you feel like you’ve escaped to some coastal retreat. Plus, there’s parking right at the hotel, which anyone who’s dealt with Vancouver parking will tell you is worth its weight in gold.

The Rooms

I’ll be straight with you — the room I stayed in was one of those places where you actually want to spend time rather than just crash for the night. The floor-to-ceiling windows frame the harbor views perfectly, and the beds are legitimately some of the most comfortable I’ve encountered (apparently other guests agree, because everyone raves about the sleep quality here). The bathrooms have this spa-like feel with deep soaking tubs, and the little touches — like the locally-sourced bath products and the way they’ve positioned the seating area to maximize those water views — show someone really thought this through.

Dining and Amenities

The restaurant here focuses on Pacific Northwest cuisine, and while I’m usually skeptical of hotel dining, they actually pull it off. The chef clearly knows how to work with local seafood, and eating on the waterfront patio while watching the harbor activity is pretty special. The fitness center overlooks the water too — I mean, if you’re going to work out, might as well have something gorgeous to look at. There’s also a spa that feels more like a high-end urban retreat than your typical hotel add-on, with treatments that incorporate local ingredients and techniques.

  Whole experience was excellent, from the check in to check out. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Dinner was delicious and the pool area was brilliant. Room was super comfy and equipped. The location was fab although I wish I’d upgraded our room to have a harbour view!
