I mean, you’re staying right in Hastings — not exactly the neighborhood most tourists think about when they picture Vancouver — but that’s actually what makes this place special. The four-star property sits on McGill Street, and while it might not have the flashy harbor views, it’s got something better: authenticity and incredible value for what you get.

Location & Neighborhood

Here’s what I love about staying here — you’re literally walking distance from the Pacific National Exhibition grounds, which is fantastic if you’re visiting during fair season or catching events at the Coliseum. But even when there’s nothing happening at the PNE, this spot gives you easy access to both downtown and some of Vancouver’s more interesting neighborhoods without paying downtown prices. The parking situation alone makes this place worth considering; finding free private parking in Vancouver is like finding a unicorn, but PNE Delight actually delivers on this front.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was surprisingly spacious — you know how Vancouver hotels can feel cramped, but this one bucked that trend. Everything felt fresh and well-maintained, which isn’t always a given at this price point. The beds are comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathrooms are modern enough that you won’t feel like you’re roughing it. What really impressed me was the attention to small details — good lighting for actually reading, plenty of outlets where you need them, that sort of thing.

Breakfast was hearty and got me ready for long days exploring the city, and dinner options were better than I expected for a hotel in this area. The staff seemed genuinely happy to help with recommendations, and they actually knew the neighborhood well enough to point me toward some local gems I wouldn’t have found otherwise.

Look, couples seem to really connect with this place, and I can see why — there’s something refreshingly low-key about the whole experience that lets you focus on each other rather than fighting crowds or dealing with tourist chaos. The recent guest rating of 9.3 for location tells you everything you need to know; people discover that being slightly off the beaten path doesn’t mean being inconvenienced. You’re still connected to everything Vancouver has to offer, but you get to come back to a peaceful base that feels more like a neighborhood find than a tourist trap.
