Metropolitan Hotel Vancouver Overview
First Impressions
Walking into the Metropolitan Hotel Vancouver, you immediately get that “I made the right choice” feeling. The lobby has this understated elegance that doesn’t try too hard — it’s polished without being stuffy. What really struck me was how the staff seemed genuinely happy to see guests, not just going through the motions. You know what I mean? There’s something refreshing about a four-star hotel that feels warm rather than intimidatingly fancy.
Location That Actually Matters
Honestly, the location on Howe Street is pretty much perfect if you want to experience Vancouver properly. You’re literally in the heart of downtown — I could walk to Robson Street for shopping, hit up the waterfront, or grab dinner in Yaletown without needing a cab. The couples who stay here aren’t wrong when they rave about it (apparently they rate it 9.7, which is crazy high). I mean, you step outside and you’re already where you want to be, whether that’s exploring Gastown’s cobblestone streets or catching the SeaBus to North Vancouver.
The Room Experience
Let me tell you about the beds — they’re actually as comfortable as everyone says. I’m usually skeptical when hotels brag about their mattresses, but I slept better here than I do at home (which is slightly embarrassing to admit). The room itself felt thoughtfully designed rather than just decorated. Good lighting for actually reading, enough outlets in the right places, and a bathroom that doesn’t make you feel like you’re playing Tetris every time you need to move around. Small details, but they add up when you’re staying somewhere for more than just crashing.
Breakfast Worth Waking Up For
The breakfast situation here surprised me in the best way. They’ve got this continental spread that covers pretty much every dietary need you can think of — vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free options alongside more traditional American and Asian choices. What I appreciated was that the vegan stuff didn’t feel like an afterthought, and the Asian options weren’t just token gestures. You can tell they actually put thought into making sure everyone finds something they genuinely want to eat, not just something they can tolerate.
Why Guests Love It
There’s parking right at the hotel, which honestly saves you from the downtown Vancouver parking nightmare — trust me on this one. But beyond the practical stuff, this place just gets the balance right. It’s professional enough for business travelers but relaxed enough that you don’t feel like you need to whisper in the hallways. The location score of 9.6 isn’t just numbers on a website — when you’re here, you realize you can walk to Canada Place, catch a game at Rogers Arena, or explore Stanley Park without the usual urban logistics headache. It’s one of those hotels where everything just works the way it should, without any unpleasant surprises.
Vancouver’s hotels pair rooftop gardens, craft beer libraries, and concierge-guided rainforest excursions.

The location is terrific, a short walk from the cruise ship terminal and the shopping precinct is a few steps away. Our room was good and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was included, there were plenty of choices on the menu and it was delicious. We loved that this hotel is dog friendly, we miss our dogs when we travel so it’s always a treat when we meet pups and get cuddles. We’d stay here again.

Staff, especially Irá at the front desk and Josh and Vance in the bar were very accommodating. Location was great , close to everything. Hotel and room very clean and comfortable. Would highly recommend. Price is probably comparable with other properties in the area. It was very quiet too.
