This isn’t your standard hotel room setup, and that’s actually the whole point. You’ve got a proper kitchen with full-size appliances, which means you can grab groceries from the nearby Safeway and actually cook if you want to save some money (Vancouver restaurants aren’t exactly cheap). The living area has enough space to spread out — something you definitely appreciate after a day of walking around the city. The bedroom feels separate enough that it doesn’t feel like you’re living in one cramped space, and honestly, the whole place is decorated with more personality than most vacation rentals I’ve stayed in.

Practical Perks

Here’s what I really appreciated: they’ve got free parking on-site, which is basically like finding gold in downtown Vancouver. I’ve paid $30+ per night just to park at other places in this area, so that alone saves you serious money. The building itself feels secure — you need key card access to get to the elevators, which gives you peace of mind when you’re coming and going. The wifi is solid (I worked from here a couple days without issues), and there’s a washer and dryer in the unit, which is clutch if you’re staying more than a few nights.

  The location was perfect for our needs. My spouse was able to use the wifi to continue his online work and meetings.The living room is comfortable and I liked that the coffee table raised up for a more convenient height. The bed was comfortable and the linens were fresh and clean.
  We were offered an early check-in and this was a wonderful surprise. Using the Key Cafe was a very convenient way to access the building/unit.
  
  What could be improved: Unfortunately, not the fault of the owner, but a number of people with loud voices and using vulgar language were using their outside balcony in proximity to the unit we stayed in and the noise awakened us before 6 am on one of the days. Just not able to get back to sleep when they dispersed around 6:45 am.
