Victorian Hotel Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to the Victorian Hotel on Homer Street, you immediately get that classic Vancouver vibe — it’s right in the thick of things without feeling overwhelming. The building itself has this understated charm that fits perfectly with the downtown core, and honestly, the location alone makes it worth considering. I mean, you’re literally steps away from some of the city’s best spots, which is exactly what you want when you’re exploring the city on foot. The hotel’s welcoming entrance and thoughtful design create an inviting first impression that sets the tone for your stay.
Location & Neighborhood
This three-star hotel sits in what I’d call the sweet spot of downtown Vancouver. You’re close enough to walk to Gastown’s cobblestone streets and trendy restaurants, but you’re also just a short stroll from the waterfront and Canada Place. What really struck me is how couples seem to gravitate toward this area — there’s something about being able to wander to dinner without worrying about transit or parking that just works for romantic getaways. The fact that they offer private parking is actually a big deal here, since downtown Vancouver parking can be a real headache otherwise. The neighborhood truly offers the best of urban exploration with cultural attractions and dining options at every turn.
The Room Experience
Here’s where the Victorian Hotel really delivers — the beds are genuinely comfortable, and I’m not just saying that. You know how hotel beds can be hit or miss? Well, these are definitely in the hit category. The rooms themselves are well-appointed without being flashy, which honestly feels refreshing after staying in places that try too hard. There’s something to be said for a room that just works — good lighting, decent space, and everything you need without unnecessary frills. Each space is thoughtfully designed to maximize comfort and functionality for guests.
What Sets It Apart
The hotel’s location score speaks for itself, but what you don’t realize until you’re actually staying here is how walkable everything becomes. Want to grab coffee in the morning? There are half a dozen great spots within two blocks. Feel like exploring different neighborhoods? Yaletown, the West End, and even Stanley Park are all easily accessible. It’s one of those places where you start to feel like a local pretty quickly, which is rare for a downtown hotel. The apartment-style layout of some rooms offers additional flexibility for longer stays.
Why Guests Love It
The Victorian Hotel gets the fundamentals right — comfortable beds, solid location, and that parking situation I mentioned earlier. Couples especially seem to appreciate how easy it makes exploring the city together, and I can see why. There’s something satisfying about staying somewhere that doesn’t complicate your travel plans but actually enhances them. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but it delivers on what matters most when you’re visiting Vancouver — a good night’s sleep and easy access to everything the city has to offer. The kitchen facilities available in select rooms provide added convenience for guests planning extended visits.

Beautifully redone. Much better than these tall high rise hotels. Very comfortable and Sandy at the desk was fantastic. Sandy gave us great info on the city and what we should see. Would go back to Vancouver again and would stay at the Victorian hotel. can’t say enough about it.

Our double room was spacious and the beds comfortable. The room and bathroom were very clean and the bathroom well serviced with good quality shampoos etc. The location is within walking distance to the train station and buses are directly out the front so it is easy to get around without a car.

I love staying at the Victorian when attending concerts since the hotel is within walking distance of Rogers arena. The ambiance of the hotel itself is also a lot nicer than other hotels I've stayed at nearby and for a better price! This was our first time bringing a vehicle over while staying here and it was great to be able to park our car in the on site parking and have peace of mind that it would be secure overnight.
