The St. Regis Hotel Overview
First Impressions
Walking into The St. Regis Hotel on Dunsmuir Street, you immediately get that “this is serious hospitality” feeling. The lobby has this refined elegance that doesn’t feel stuffy — honestly, it strikes the perfect balance between impressive and welcoming. I mean, you’re right in the heart of downtown Vancouver, so you’d expect something special, and this four-star property definitely delivers on that front.
Location & Getting Around
The location is honestly incredible — I can see why couples rate it so highly for romantic getaways. You’re literally steps from some of Vancouver’s best shopping and dining, and the waterfront is just a short walk away. What I really appreciate is that you can explore most of downtown on foot from here, but if you need your car, there’s private parking available (which, trust me, is a huge deal in this part of the city). The Canada Line is nearby too, so getting to the airport or Richmond is actually pretty straightforward.
The Room Experience
Now, about those beds everyone raves about — they’re not kidding around. I’ve stayed in plenty of hotels where “comfortable beds” is just marketing speak, but these are genuinely some of the most comfortable I’ve experienced. The room itself has that classic St. Regis attention to detail, with thoughtful touches that make you feel like they actually care about your stay. The views vary depending on which side you’re on, but even the city-facing rooms give you a nice sense of being right in the action.
Dining & Breakfast
The breakfast situation here is pretty flexible, which I really appreciate. They’ve got continental and American options, plus — and this is smart — breakfast to go if you’re one of those people who wants to grab something and explore the city early. The on-site restaurant serves solid food, though honestly, with Vancouver’s incredible dining scene right outside your door, you might find yourself venturing out more often than not. Still, it’s nice to have the option when you just want to stay in.
Why Guests Love It
You know what really sets this place apart? It’s that combination of being right where you want to be without feeling like you’re sacrificing comfort or service. The staff genuinely seems to know what they’re doing, and there’s something to be said for that level of consistency. Whether you’re here for business meetings downtown or planning romantic dinners in Gastown, you’re perfectly positioned. Plus, that 8.7 rating isn’t just a number — you can feel it in the way everything runs smoothly, from check-in to those little details that make a stay memorable rather than just functional. This downtown Vancouver hotel truly captures what makes the city special.
Apartments in Vancouver suit digital creatives with glass-walled lofts, cowork pods, and bike storage on the seawall.

Extremely polite staff; every employee was always smiling, helpful and enjoyed where they worked!!
We enjoyed the clean room and contemporary classic bathroom, the breakfast inclusion, and the daily water/chocolates.
I rushed out one morning and left brochures and notes all over my unmade bed and returned to a made-up bed with all my "papers" put back in the exact same position – can't get any better than that!!! Thank you to all for making our stay an enjoyable one.Cliff from United Kingdom (9/10)
