The bedroom feels separate enough that you’re not living on top of your luggage, and the bathroom is modern without being sterile. Everything just works the way it should.

Location & Neighborhood

West 59th Avenue might not sound glamorous, but the location is actually pretty smart. You’re in a quiet residential area that feels safe for walking around, even late at night. I noticed lots of couples during my stay — apparently it’s become quite popular for romantic getaways, which makes sense given how peaceful the neighborhood is. The transit connections are solid too; you can get downtown without too much hassle, but you’re far enough out that you’re not dealing with city noise and chaos when you want to relax.

What Makes It Work

Here’s the thing about this place — it doesn’t try to be something it’s not. There’s no fancy restaurant or elaborate lobby, but what they do offer is executed really well. The parking situation is straightforward (which, if you’ve ever tried to park in Vancouver, you’ll appreciate), and the whole setup feels more like staying in a friend’s well-appointed guest suite than a typical hotel. The modern touches aren’t just for show either — good WiFi, proper lighting for reading, outlets where you actually need them. Small details, but they add up.

Why Guests Love It

I can see why this place gets such high ratings from recent guests. It delivers exactly what it promises without any pretense. For couples especially, there’s something appealing about having your own little space where you can cook breakfast together or just spread out and relax. The value is solid too — you’re getting a lot more space and amenities than you’d find at a traditional hotel for similar money. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Vancouver, but for what it is, it’s really well done. I’d definitely consider staying here again, particularly if I was planning a longer visit where having that kitchen would come in handy.

  Something a little different than your typical B&B. On a busy highway, but my room was on the water side and very quiet. Breakfast is put outside your door the night before, which worked fine for me. Not a fancy sit-down breakfast in a dining room, but I preferred just having it in my room. A generous amount of food. A nice tranquil spot, but the highway to Sooke is getting very busy. A very nice restaurant (The Stickleback) within an easy walk. Nice view of the water from the room.

  It was nicely self contained, good kitchen, with some essentials like washing up liquid, kitchen towels, great hot water boiling machine to make hot drinks with, excellent washing machine and tumbler, good bed and bedding, good bathroom and shower. Towels supplied. Good space to hang clothes with hangers. We relaxed and enjoyed our stay. Downtown Vancouver was 10/15 minutes by bus and the Canada Line which takes you to the airport YVR.
