Crystal’s View Bed & Breakfast Overview
First Impressions
You know what struck me first about Crystal’s View Bed & Breakfast? It’s not just another generic hotel trying to be everything to everyone. This five-star property sits quietly on Tempe Crescent in North Vancouver, and honestly, the moment you pull up, you get why couples are rating the location so highly. The setting feels intimate and residential — like you’re staying at a sophisticated friend’s place rather than checking into a commercial property.
The Location Magic
I mean, North Vancouver isn’t just “convenient” — it’s actually perfect for people who want luxury without the downtown chaos. You’re tucked into this peaceful crescent, but you’re still close enough to everything that matters. What I love is how the neighborhood feels genuinely local, not touristy. You can walk around in the evening and see actual residents going about their lives, which gives you a real sense of the city. The fact that recent guests rated the location 9.7 doesn’t surprise me at all — there’s something special about being in a residential area that still puts you within reach of Vancouver’s highlights.
The Room Experience
The room quality here is where you really feel that five-star difference. Everything feels carefully chosen rather than mass-purchased, if you know what I mean. The attention to detail is obvious — from the linens to the way the space is laid out. It’s not enormous, but it doesn’t need to be because every inch feels purposeful. Actually, the intimate scale works perfectly for the bed & breakfast concept. You get that luxury hotel comfort but with a much more personal touch than you’d find at the big chain properties downtown.
Breakfast Worth Waking Up For
Let’s talk about breakfast — because honestly, this is where Crystal’s View really shines. The full English/Irish breakfast isn’t just thrown together; it’s properly executed with quality ingredients. I’ve stayed at plenty of places that promise “full breakfast” and deliver sad scrambled eggs, but this is the real deal. The timing works well too — you’re not rushed through like at a busy hotel restaurant, but you’re also not waiting around forever. It sets you up perfectly for whatever you’re planning to do in Vancouver that day.
Why Guests Love It
The free parking on site is actually a bigger deal than you might think — anyone who’s tried to park in Vancouver knows this saves you both money and hassle. But beyond the practical stuff, there’s something about the whole experience that just works. The combination of luxury amenities with that personal bed & breakfast atmosphere creates something pretty special. You get the service level and quality you’d expect from a five-star property, but without feeling like you’re just another guest in a massive operation. That 9.6 rating makes complete sense when you experience how everything comes together — the location, the breakfast, the personal attention, even the little details like having your own parking spot waiting for you.
The concierge service in Vancouver arranges seaplane fjord picnics, private Capilano dawn walks, and chef-sourced seafood markets.

Our only problem was that we could only stay for a short time. Would like to have stayed longer.
Ted from United States – 11 December 2024 (10/10)
Breakfast was fantastic. Hosts were very friendly and accommodating. North Vancouver is a great location if you want to look at Vancouver and not be in Vancouver. Plenty of outdoor activities within a short distance. A short drive to the North Shore and plenty of parking options to ride the sea bus to downtown Vancouver and then take the sky train to other Vancouver sites is best option to avoid the frustration of dealing with downtown traffic, the unpredictable Lions Bridge crossing, and finding downtown parking.
What could be improved: The high price for the stay. This was not Cystal's fault, just due to the "Taylor Swift" effect. However, the price for a comparable room in a downtown Vancouver hotel would have been about the same without breakfast and friendly hosts.Emilie from United States – 2 October 2024 (10/10)
Crystal is so warm and knowledgeable about the area. I felt like I was saying goodbye to a friend when we left. Bed was SO comfortable! Quiet neighborhood but close to all the best hiking spots we were interested in.

It’s in a safe, quiet neighborhood away from the hustle and bustle of downtown but close to the highways and easy to get around. The gardens are beautiful and the room is very nice. Well appointed and the whole place is very welcoming. The hosts are lovely and go out of their way to make it a great place to stay. The food is generous and great. We hope to return soon.
What could be improved: Nothing, it was just perfect for our stay.Cheryl from United States – 28 May 2024 (10/10)

The breakfasts gave us everything we wanted.
What could be improved: Met all our requirements. Will remain our favorite B&B.Carolyn from United States – 11 November 2023 (10/10)
The breakfast was amazing. We don't normally do bed and breakfasts so it was a little intimidating. But while enjoying Crystal's amazing and healthy breakfast we made new friends. We cannot wait to come back.

The best part of Crystal's place is Crystal herself – she is the best, most caring host ever. She showed genuine interest in ensuring we have a great time in Vancouver. Gave us great suggestions, arranged discount coupons, offered help to reserve a nice restaurant for dining, and tried to accommodate us in every way she can. The room was spacious and impeccably clean. We stayed at Vivaldy, which had a private balcony with a superb view of the city. I liked the bathroom most – it is so fancy and well-equipped. Crystal welcomed us with her homemade cookies (a special kind – haven't had those before) which almost saved our lives as we has a very long journey and were practically starving. We did not get a chance to taste her very famous breakfast because we had some other plans, however, I did try her berry yogurt which was very tasty. Overall, we couldn't have expected a better BnB experience.
What could be improved: What's not to like? 🙂
